Millions of Americans suffer from gastrointestinal and esophageal pain, most commonly with such issues as heartburn and irritable bowel syndrome, and consume considerable amounts of gastrointestinal medication as a result, sometimes to no avail. Many patients do not get relief from traditional treatment methods and continue to suffer from their disorders. Because of this, researchers are always looking for new methods of treatment, such as hypnosis, which has become a vital treatment for many suffering from gastrointestinal pain.
According to a recent NBC news article, hypnotherapy is being used to treat a number of abdominal and esophageal conditions, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Crohn’s disease, heartburn, and ulcerative colitis, among several others. Hypnotherapy utilizes the connection between mind and digestive tract and can be used to effectively reduce pain in the abdomen, reduce bloating, and aid in bowel patterns. This is great news for those with treatment-resistant gastrointestinal issues and provides hope and relief for those that have not benefited from other treatment methods.
Heartburn is not the only thing hypnosis has a history of treating, but also helps with a number of psychological disorders like depression, anxiety, addiction, and phobias. Additionally, hypnotherapy has been utilized to help people lose weight, stop smoking, manage pain, reduce stress, and recover memory. If you have a problem that is not responding to traditional treatment, it may be worth it to give hypnotherapy a shot.
If you are currently suffering from a mental or physical disorder that is not making improvement in treatment, hypnotherapy can help. Almost everyone is familiar with the dreadful feeling that comes when you know you have a difficult task that you need to complete. Anxiety, fear of failure, and perfectionism—among other things—can keep people from accomplishing tasks in a timely manner. Procrastination can hold you back from accomplishing dreams, result in a lost job, or cause a drop in grades. Additionally, procrastination can discourage people and make them feel useless, resulting in low self-esteem and ultimately leading to more procrastination. The act of procrastination is not linked to a lack of intelligence or overwhelming laziness; procrastination is simply a defense mechanism used to ease anxieties and insecurities. A change in the way you think about your feelings and anxieties can help change your resulting reactions.
If you are struggling with procrastination, you may be looking for a way to kick this bad habit and reshape your life. Hypnosis is commonly used to help individuals struggling with addictions, fears, and mental barriers—it can help with procrastination as well. Hypnosis helps an individual reach a trance state, a state where the subconscious takes over, senses are heightened, and clear thinking becomes easier. In the state of hypnosis, one can visualize and mentally rehearse reaching their goals. The ease and calmness of the trance state can help you:
- Feel more in command of your actions
- Know how to recognize and react to certain feelings
- Feel a sense of purpose and motivation
- Ultimately get more done
Hypnosis is completely safe and is helpful for those seeking a change in attitude, mental state, or behavior.
The hypnotherapists at the Orlando Hypnosis Clinic are trained to help individuals reach a trance state while keeping them as comfortable and relaxed as possible. To learn more about our clinic and services, contact us at (407) 369-8474 today.
There are a lot of good reasons to go to therapy. Therapy can help you work through old issues, get in control of your life, and improve your overall mental health and happiness. However, therapy can be expensive and results can take a long time, sometimes years, to manifest. Hypnotherapy can be equally if not more effective than traditional therapy for many issues, such as addiction, anxiety, weight loss, and issues with past memories. A hypnotherapist can put you into a more suggestible state to help you get in control of undesirable behaviors, get to the root of other issues, and unlock past memories that may be causing you pain. There are many benefits of choosing hypnosis over other traditional therapy methods, including:
- It’s cost effective. Hypnotherapy can be an extremely cost-effective therapeutic option because it typically yields results much faster than other behavioral therapy methods. By using hypnotherapy to change a certain behavior, you can see results without having to spend copious amounts of time and money working through the same issues in a traditional therapy setting. It saves time, money, and stress, and can allow you to return to the life you want more quickly.
- It can help when other therapies don’t. Often, patients can get stuck with a certain issue in the course of traditional therapy that they cannot seem to work past. If you have an issue that is traditional treatment-resistant, you may consider hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy puts you into a more receptive and open state, so its practice, used alone or combined with other behavioral therapy methods, can make breakthroughs where other methods fall short.
- It may reveal things your conscious self does not have access to. The more relaxed and suggestible state created through hypnotherapy can reveal past memories, potentially traumatic, that may be causing you issues in your current life. It might reveal past pain that you are holding on to or show you the causes of current behavioral issues you may be experiencing.
If you have issues you need to work through that haven’t been receptive to traditional methods or you are simply curious about what hypnosis might have to offer, you should consider hypnotherapy as a therapeutic option. Our trained hypnotherapists can help you in whatever you are struggling with and so you get back to a happy and functioning life. Whether you’re planning to lose weight by eating less, eating healthier, exercising more, or even watching less TV, hypnosis or, in some cases, hypnotherapy for weight loss has you covered. You can address a myriad of areas at one time so you can successfully put a plan together and achieve your desired weight. This is much easier than relying on white knuckled will power.
In the June 5th, 2017, Time Magazine’s Article “The Truth About Weight Loss” by Alexandra Sifferlin, whether you are on a low carb diet, low fat diet, Paleo, Vegan or Flexitarian Diet, in order to lose weight and keep it off, there has to be a behavioral change. In this same article, The National Weight Loss Control Registry reports in their ongoing study of 10,000 people who have lost thirty pounds or more and kept it off, 98% changed their diet and 90% exercised on average one hour a day, 78% eat breakfast every day, 45% weren’t on a diet program, 75% weighed themselves at least once a week, 62% watch fewer than 10 hours of TV per week, and 55% used a weight loss program. Of these 10,000 people, no two people lost the weight in quite the same way.
It’s obvious you’ll need to put together a plan that covers the specific areas you’ll want to address when tackling weight loss. That plan has to include lots of sleep, water and it must satisfy hunger. Hunger erodes will power since hunger is an innate biological drive. Hypnosis can help you change negative behavior, make new healthier behaviors and habits, address emotional issues if necessary so you can stick with your plan and get the rest you need.

Aside from fighting bad habits, improving ones’ personality, or for self-encouragement, hypnotherapy could also be used to tackle weight gain, a February 7 article of Business Mirror reported.
According to New York-based hypnotist Elena Mosaner, people are very conscious about gaining weight not only during holiday seasons but in the whole year. Like any other professional hypnotist, Mosaner busted the myth commonly associated with the alternative treatment. A typical hypnosis session with Mosaner could be described as a “guided meditation” where she will let the client relax then suggest the affirmations that would improve the client. Mosaner stated that it only take approximately two hypnosis sessions to solve almost any personal issues. Psychologist Sera Lavelle, on the other hand, believes that addressing personal issues through hypnosis and traditional psychotherapy could be more effective.
The professional hypnotherapists at the Orlando Hypnosis Clinic also help individuals in addressing weight gain problems. An article of CBS Pittsburgh on January 25 revealed that there has an increase in using hypnosis to improve children’s behavior, help them excel in academics, or help them perform better in sports.
According to reports there have mixed reactions regarding hypnosis use in children. In Pittsburgh, hypnosis is increasingly being used in children. Like in the case of Silvana Ferrer who does not want to use medications in treating her 10-year-old son with ADHD. Silvana reportedly sought the help of a skilled hypnotherapist to help her son cope up in school. After undergoing a hypnotherapy session, the boy noticed that he performed well in school. Though some doctors consider child hypnosis as a way beyond for parents to handle their kids, mental health experts said that such approach is worth considering if the goal is to treat serious trauma in children, bed-wetting, or any traumatic past experiences.

Aside from the competency of the hypnotherapist, ASCH, which is comprised of health professionals who consider hypnosis an alternative treatment, believe hypnotherapy is most effective if patients are eager to resolve their problems by also helping themselves. Though some patients may not find hypnotherapy effective, ASCH believes that many patients find it to be effective in solving their problems. Once smoking becomes a habit, many people find it extremely difficult to stop smoking for a variety of reasons. Be it for good health, to save money, or just wanting to avoid the smell of cigarette smoke, there are countless reasons for a person to quit smoking.
Hypnotherapy is one of the alternative methods used to help a person stop smoking. Unlike using nicotine patches or taking medications, smokers who are considering hypnotherapy are given suggestions to encourage them to stop smoking. The strategy of hypnotherapy is to establish all the bad effects of smoking. For example, the hypnotherapist may suggest to the patient what the lungs will look like when plagued by cancer caused by smoking. Individuals who consider this kind of therapy should understand they are 100 percent conscious during the session and they will not do anything against their will. While some medical literature claims not all smokers can be treated by hypnotherapy, there are hypnotherapists claiming 98 percent success rates helping people kick the habit.
If you are a smoker and want to change your life through hypnotherapy, consult the Orlando Hypnosis Clinic. Find out how our professional hypnotists may help you today by calling (407) 369-8474.
A recent study in Australia revealed children may benefit from hypnotherapy if they are undergoing burn injury treatment, a December 9 article published by The University of Queensland reported.
Researcher Stephen Chester studied 62 burn patients at a children’s hospital whose ages ranged from 4 to 16. The aim of the research was to determine the effectiveness of hypnotherapy in reducing pain, stress, and anxiety in young burn injury patients. Chester found that 70 percent of the patients who underwent hypnotherapy experienced reduced pain levels after a hypnotherapy session and 67 percent of the group noticed they fared better in managing their stress and anxiety levels. Mr. Chester also noted that while adults are likely to benefit from hypnotherapy, children are more likely to be benefactors of the treatment because they are more responsive during therapy sessions. Young patients may find themselves relieved from stress and anxiety while undergoing treatment if hospital staff know how to perform hypnotherapy sessions.
